Marble is such a challenging medium to sculpt. Actually, many others are, too. Yet, to work with this hard, yet soft, ancient and often expensive composite takes courage and particular skill.
In 2019, we are thrilled and honoured to have an accomplished young sculptor from Japan, Ko Yamazaki, exhibiting his piece of Carrara marble: Plates.
Ko states: “Reflecting and adopting parts of my personality the marble develops its own unique character. I think that my sculpture as unfinished inventories; I am trying each work with indecisiveness, improvising along the way.”
One of the many inspiring works on display from March 8-17 in Bermagui. Come see for yourself.
